Many tech savvy people know and talk about Ad Block. It became vastly popular only when Firefox came about. There were other ad blockers prior to that but were a hassle to use, forcing you to setup a loopback proxy.
Now with Firefox extensions, it only takes 3-4 clicks to install, and once you’ve done so, you don’t have to do it again every time you boot up your computer.
You have probably heard about how prevalent ad blocking has become, and Google Analytics gives you a nice way to look at it.
As you would expect from the same great advertisement minds that brought you Zune squirting, I present to you Microspotting. Note: I am not bashing Microsoft overall, just their advertising.

The website was already 2 years old, but it was only recently famous when it posted an interview about a rags to riches man who liked the fact he could go to the bathroom whenever he wanted to.
He can go to the bathroom anytime he wants to. That's why you should join him at Microsoft.
Recently the Internet is abuzz with the often discussed topic of the software license GPL.
What began this firestorm was an article titled “Twenty questions about the GPL”. If you started reading that your eyes would quickly glaze over. And this is one of the fundamental problems with the GPL.
So think about this. Laws are so complex that you need to go through college/law school for 7 years and then pass a bar exam. And ignorance is not an excuse, which means you should either have the money to hire a lawyer or the time and money to become one. This is the idea that GPL encourages.
Amazingly, many people think a browser is a search engine.
Someone interviewed people in New York asking them, “What is a browser?” Only 4 out of 50 people knew. Most people said it was search engine like Google or Yahoo.
Here’s an analogy that might help these people:
A browser is like your TV.
A search engine is a Tivo or TV Guide.
Your internet connection is your Cable Box or Satellite Dish.
